Happy birthday fan

Yep 1/26 is Yang Fan's birthday. Happy late birthday Fan! Starting off the year with lots of love ^^ I love how Prince is wearing an anti-germ mask. And Kido's kind of detached when everyone else is showering Fan with kisses, like "Yeah I know it's your birthday but I'm still cooler *puffs out chest*" lol

Aww bromance

Kpop weibos!

Have a chem quiz tomorrow I don't wanna study for. It's just basically how to program a calculator to find wavelengths, frequency, and energy for you. Hopefully it won't be too hard because I really need to work on our ExploraVision project, which is due in less than 3 days.

The result of my procrastination? Well I found some kpop artists with Sina weibos. There was a post on Allkpop that showed pictures from Miss A Fei's weibo and I was like "whoa kpop artists have weibos?" And I discovered that Ukiss Alexander has one and actually posts pretty constantly. And it really saddens me to say that his Chinese is probably more fluent than mine. That guy really is fluent in 7 languages. Plus he can sing and dance. Then there's the rest of us who are hopelessly untalented :P Although I am glad to say that he uses Android (as shown by his weibo), which, no offense to diehard Apple fans, I would have to say is my favorite OS. As a matter of fact I'm using my recently downloaded Android Blogger app right now. Go Android!

So back to kpop I was going through his friends list to see if I could find any interesting artists (look don't judge this is just what I do when I'm procrastinating. Plus I bet I'm not the only one when you consider those crazy netizens) and apparently he's friends with Hit-5's Prince Duan Huangwei (or as I like to call him, Prince). Yeah no that's not the end of the story. There's this hilarious picture of Hit-5's Dong Yufeng sitting on a table straightening his hair haha. Don't forget to keep it from frying ^^

PS. I don't know what's up with the font and everything. Hopefully, Blogger will fix this soon.

Hm.

So. I have gotten a number of strange obscure Chinese albums from my dad. Along with a not so obscure tenth anniversary Jay Chou album XD It makes me feel happy.

But anyways. One of the albums I got was by this guy named Wei Chen. So I did my homework. Boy, he's hot. And now i have a poster with him on it :D And, his song Disparate is pretty good. But having good songs isn't so important.... JK. Because if that was true, SNSD would be good. Ha.

But all of the other albums I got were crap. They were so bad I'm not gonna shame the artists by mentioning them here.

Oh well.

Fall in love

There's a new HunanTV drama that began airing recently called Fall in Love 一不小心爱上你 which is supposed to be a remake of Autumn in My Heart. It stars Zhang Han from Meteor Shower, Dennis Oh, and Jiang Kaitong. I started watching it, and I literally mean started because I saw about 35 seconds of it, and I can already guess what the first episode will be about. It's so typical..

So let me summarize: The first 35 seconds is very Chinese/Asian drama-y. A girl is sitting on a park bench (I was kind of wondering what she was doing because she was staring straight ahead. Robotic? idk) and all of a sudden she gets a call and gets all excited. She jumps up from the bench and spazzes, and as a result of her spazzing, she knocks over a bald fat guy and makes some corny joke about his nice hairstyle that day. Then she's on a bike riding down a hill in the middle of the road (mistake #1) with the wind blowing though her hair and she's all happy and taking her hands off the handlebars (mistake #2) screaming "I have a job!!". She's too absorbed in her joyous little job-filled world to notice her surroundings and crashes into a car (mistake#1+mistake#2) of a rich preppy guy, complete with the ironed button down shirt tucked into his khakis and aviator shades.

And I'm guessing the rest of the episode/drama goes something like this: The girl gets up and starts acting all Asian-drama girly about being hit by the car and screams at the guy for not paying attention to where he was going while it was really her fault. I mean seriously, who rides a bike in the middle of the road in CHINA of all places? There's 1.3 billion people just waiting to hit you with a car, not on purpose of course. And if you're going to do it, at least keep your hands on the handlebars and your eyes open. And what is it with Asian dramas and people getting hit by cars? How many relationships actually start like that? Anyways, back to the drama. So then the guy will either retaliate by saying she wasn't paying attention and they will fight, or he will say that he is sorry and give her his number for insurance purposes. It really depends on the personality of the guy. The girl will continue her day while fuming about the idiotic guy that hit her. Then she will meet the other male lead who will turn out to be her handsome and kind prince in shining armor. Later, she will somehow meet the idiotic guy again, but this time, there will be some kind of unfortunate relationship that ties them together and they start to develop feelings for each. And then the girl will struggle to decide who she really loves while the guys are dueling for her heart or whatever. Add some crying, some intense staredowns, a few guy vs. guy jealous moments, a mysterious past, a determined ex-girlfriend, and maybe a piggyback ride or two to the mess-- and there's your drama.

Ok, now that I've attempted to predict the drama, let's see if I'm right. I'm only watching this 'cause Zhang Han's one of my favorite male actors, so if the drama's predictable (although I'm really hoping there's a couple of twists), at least there's still Zhang Han.

Hit-5 new song!

Ok this is so cpop/mandopop sounding and I love it! I mean, it's about time Hit-5 came back to the mandopop world after all that kpop sounding songs. I love them and all, but their new song Loving You in Every Second (爱在每一秒) finally shows the mandopop side of them. And the lyrics are soo sweet. It has been released especially for all the couples in love for Valentine's Day. Hope there's an MV to come. Hit-5, Jia You!

The green bee..

No, The Green Hornet!! Haha, just an example of the rich kid getting treated by the azn mechanic (aka Jay Chou) from the Green Hornet movie. Julia and I just saw that yesterday, and the movie as a whole wasn't the best movie of the year (although it is only January), but the scriptwriter has an awesome sense of humor. Jay Chou keeps randomly speaking Chinese and when he got kicked out of the house of the girl who I thought he liked, he was like "I got screwed over by that idiot" in Chinese hahaha. I wish they had shown that part in subs because it was hilarious. And it would've been cool if there was an OST sung by Jay Chou or something that displayed his talents. In conclusion: The Green Hornet-If you are a Jay Chou fan, it is a must-see movie.

Will Pan "Most Wanted" MV

Will Pan has a new album out called "808" and so is the MV for his title track (I think) called 全面通缉 Most Wanted. I only found out about this today when I was surfing YouTube. I wish I could find a blog or a site that archives Cpop and Mandopop news like Allkpop or Tokyohive because there's 1.3 billion people in China plus 2.3 million in Taiwan so I'm guessing there's a ton of artists. I recently discovered probably 15-20 really good Cpop/Mandopop artists who I have never heard of before because there is like no place to find them. Except the Cfensi forums, but they're forums and not an official archive so it's not as complete. I dont read Chinese well so Baidu isn't really an option :P Well I guess there's at least motivation to learn now. Anyways, check out the MV below. Will Pan never disappoints ;)

Hit-5 pic spam!

I don't usually do pic spams but I stumbled upon a few really cute/pretty Hit-5 pics and realized I should compile them. What better place than the blog where I blab about anything and everything Asian?

So here goes:

1. Duan Huangwei (David)
If I woke up every morning to see this smile I think it would make my day.

Now I know why they call him Prince Duan. I think I'm just going to refer to him as "Prince" from now on. Love his style too.

2. Gao Yu (Kido)
This is my destiny right here. That coat is friggin' awesome. Oh and the guy's cute too ^^ jk Kido pwns, he's got good taste.

Kido makes me lol hahaha. Mashimaro!!

3. Yang Fan (Evan, Fan)
When is Fan not pretty?

Ok this is an epic photo. Along with the one below it. Two of my favorite pictures ever XD

Above: Prince and Feng. Below: 4. Dong Yufeng (Xiao Feng)

5. Guo Ziyu (Gking)
And last but not least, the Gking. Yep, the king with the tiny ponytail tied in a pink ribbon. You'd never guess he's the leader and rapper of the group.

Well.

Sherry says I don't post that much. I post. Sometimes.

Well anyways, my mom blocked Youtube on my computer and said that if I wanted to watch a video, we could watch it together. Yeah right. She blocked Youtube and Safari on my Ipod too. (TT^TT). At least I found an alternative web browser on my Ipod so I can still browse without her stupid filter. Ugh. She's so uptight. She was on my back about how I was so unproductive... during winter break. THAT'S THE REASON WINTER BREAK EXISTS!!! So we can slack off freely.

And, she uninstalled Maplestory. MAPLESTORY. That thing was my sole source of entertainment after she got rid of all of the sites that are FUN. GOSH I am so frustrated and bored. This hasn't even helped my productivity anyways. Now, when I'm bored, instead of going on Facebook, I mope around and stare at the ceiling. Sigh. I'm gonna go do that now...

Happy late new year and everything

Had a nice holiday everyone? Good for you because I didn't. Well I kind of did. I got to sleep ten hours a day, but now that I'm back in school I feel like I'm half-awake. During the art slideshow today in history, I fell asleep and almost fell out of my chair. I mean, falling asleep during the slideshow really isn't anything new since I have never made it through any of them so far this year, but I've never gotten into trouble with gravity before. :P And now that school's started again I have to worry about my computer programming grade because I am almost positive that I failed the final. I didn't even have time to figure out a working program for any of the prompts he gave us, so I kind of just wrote down the first program that popped into my head. Which was apparently testing an integer between 2 and 1000 to see if it is prime or not. Wtf. Yeah so I'm kinda worried about that class.

Anyways, onto happier thoughts. Or more interesting ones, whatever. I was going through some of my favorite YouTube beatboxers the other day and found that Hikakin did a remix of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. A lot of people have said it might be better than the Gaga herself. See and judge for yourself.

Dang this guy is good.

Oh and Hit-5 came out with two new music videos over the holiday. One is Running, which they performed at the Twelfth Annual China-Korea Music Festival, and the other is Afraid of You (Pa Le Ni) feat. Girl's Day Minah. They've improved a lot since their debut. If Allkpop had them as a choice on their end of the year polling for most improved band, I totally would've chosen them. Some people have been criticizing the Afraid of You MV, saying it's copying kpop and whatnot, but I think it's fine the way it is, sweet and simple. Plus, people should that they have been trained in Korea and have/have had Korean composers and stylists. Very kpop influenced. All analyzations aside, check them out:
